PML-Q provoking Sindhis ahead of Pak polls: Sharif

Lahore, Jan 8 : Former Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has told media-persons that the Q-League is provoking Sindhis at this critical time, and is also planning to rig the elections.

Sharif was talking to media-persons after the conclusion of a PML-N Central Working Committee meeting here.

He said the country could not afford President Musharraf anymore, and the only solution is his immediate resignation, and the holding of transparent elections in the country.

The meeting also condemned the assassination of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Benazir Bhutto and also passed a resolution to demand Musharraf's immediate resignation.

"At this critical hour, the Musharraf backed Q-League leadership is playing anti-national politics with serious negative consequences for the federation of Pakistan. Musharraf must immediately step down and the acting president must invite all opposition parties for consultation to form a national unity government," The News quoted Nawaz, as saying.

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shahbaz Sharif, Chairman Raja Zafar-ul-Haq, Secretary-General Iqbal Zafar Jhgara and Information Secretary Ahsan Iqbal attended the meeting.

Nawaz also claimed that the PML-Q has a plan to rig the polls would lead anarchy in the country.

While answering a question, he said the PML-N is participating in the election because they don't want Musharraf to gain in strength.

Nawaz also informed the media that the election campaign would be launched in the next few days.
