Islamabad, Jan 8 : The Pakistan Government today rejected the reports that they have arrested several people for their alleged involvement in the assassination of ex-premier Benazir Bhutto from Swabi district.

"This (report) is totally false and we have not made any arrests in this matter," The News quoted Interior Ministry Spokesman Brigadier (retired) Javed Iqbal Cheema, as saying.

Earlier, the ARY channel reported that following the identification of the man who fired at Benazir Bhutto on December 27, a raid was conducted at his residence in Swabi district.

The channel said that the National Database and Registration Authority confirmed that the suspect hailed from Swabi.

Sources have said that police had arrested several people after a raid at the home of the suspect.

Meanwhile, British Foreign Secretary David Miliband has said that a team of cross UK government experts would travel to Pakistan next week for further consultations.
