Bangalore, Jan 8 (UNI) More than 60 international word experts, including three top world ranking players, will be vying for top honours in the three-day fourth iGATE International Scrabble tournament beginning from January 11.
Top ranked player in the world Ganesh Ashirvatham and two of the top five World Scrabble Champions also would be taking part in the tournament, iGate said in a press release here today.
Over 30 Indian players have qualified for the International tournament after battling in the qualifying rounds held in Mumbai, Goa, Hyderabad, Chennai and Bangalore.
Word experts from 12 countries, including 30 overseas players from the United Kingdom, Thailand, Australia, Nigeria would compete for the prize money of over Rs four lakh.
iGATE Global Solutions in association with the Karnataka State Scrabble Association (KSSA) is organising the tournament which would be held at the corporate headquarters of iGATE in Whitefield.
