Greater Noida villages to get Ambedkar Village status
Noida, UP, Jan 8 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati today said once they get Ambedkar village status villages in the Greater Noida area would be developed on the lines of a sector.
Addressing a gathering, Ms Mayawati, who was on a tour here despite a political superstition that any UP Chief Minister who visits Noida during his or her tenure does not return to power, assured farmers that their land would not be acquired forcibly.
She said the new rate of compensation against acquisition of land would be announced shortly.
Ms Mayawati also announced that the farmers would now get a share of 17.5 per cent in the plots registered by the Noida and the Greater Noida Development Authority.
Earlier, farmers were given a share of 12.5 per cent.
She said under a special campaign plots would be given to all the farmers eligible for registration.
She also made an announcement to give Rs 1 crore to the Noida police for modernisation.
