Kolkata, Jan 8: The CBI today submitted its report on the Rizwanur Rahman death case to the Calcutta High Court.
The central investigating agency placed the report before the bench of Justice Dipankar Dutta. The next date of hearing has been fixed for January 11. The CBI conducted a probe into the ''mysterious'' death of computer graphics designer and teacher Rahman following a High Court order dated October 16.
The agency was asked to submit its report within a month, which expired in mid-December. The CBI had asked for more time from the court to complete the investigation, to which the court had allowed time till today to submit the report.
The computer graphics teacher was found dead along the railway tracks in the eastern part of the city on September 21. His family alleged that he had been murdered and his father-in-law Ashok Todi then became the centre of suspicion.
The CBI had filed a case against Todi and five policemen in this connection.
An advocate of the High Court said the report was very important since it revealed wounds and injury marks on Rizwanur's body.
