New Delhi, Jan 8 (UNI) After jaywalkers, it is minors driving vehicles in the city who are now facing the music! In its special drive against school kids and minors driving vehicles, the Delhi police today challaned 44 minors across the city.
Twenty six vehicles were impounded by the police on the first day of the drive, being carried out near 40 schools in the city, a police spokesperson said.
Of the 44 minors challened, 42 were driving two wheelers while two were on four wheelers.
The initiative which follows a drive by the police against jaywalkers last month, is part of efforts by police to streamline traffic in the city.
The traffic police has already written to school principals drawing their attention to the menace of minor driving and requested them to sensitise students about it.
