Siwan, Jan 7 (UNI) First Class Judicial Magistrate B.B.Gupta has issued a showcause notice to incarcerated RJD MP Md Shahabuddin asking him to explain why the conditional bail granted to him in connection with the electricity theft case not be cancelled for defying the high courts order.
The controversial MP had breached the condition of the bail by not submitting Rs 20,000 as fine.The matter came to light during regular trial of the cases lodged against the MP.
While granting conditional bail to Md Shahabuddin in this case, in 2005, Patna High court had directed him to furnish two surities of Rs 10,000 each along with a fine of Rs 20,000.
The case was registered at Hussainabad police station in the district after a raid was conducted at the residence of Md Shahabuddin at his native village Partapur under the same police station area on April 24, 2005.
Md Shahabuddin was currently lodged in Siwan jail since 2005 where he was facing regular trial in connection with about 50 criminal cases lodged against him under various sections of IPC including wild life act, fraud and theft, for possessing banned equipment used by the Army, for keeping Pakistan made cartridges and for murder, abduction and other charges.
