Remedial teaching to be introduced in Mizoram
Aizawl, Jan 7 (UNI) Mizoram education minister R Lalthangliana today said the state SSA Mission will introduce a remedial teaching in Mizoram with an investment of Rs 164 lakh from this year.
The human resources development ministry had sanctioned Rs 164 lakh after the state's SSA authority had submitted a project in this connection. The remedial teaching will require deputation of more voluntary teachers at some schools, which are facing shortage of teachers, the minister said.
As per the project, new 780 voluntary teachers will be appointed at Rs 2000 per month to add to the previously appointed education volunteers in different villages. The village education committee will appoint the teachers for their respective villages according the requirement of the schools.
SSA officials here stated that Mizoram will be among the few states to have such remedial teaching.
