Mah: PSI held accepting 50,000 bribe

Police
Sub-Inspector,
attached
to
the
Mira
Road
Police
Station
in
the
district,
was
nabbed
by
the
Thane
unit
of
the
Anti-Corruption
Bureau
(ACB)
while
allegedly
accepting
a
bribe
of
Rs
50,000
in
the
police
station
itself
tonight.
ACB sources said the PSI, Shafi Shaikh, had demanded a sum of Rs 50,000 from a local estate agent, Adil Shaikh, for not arresting the latter.
Later, Adil lodged a complaint against Shafi with the ACB, whose officials laid a trap in the police station and apprehended the PSI red handed while accepting the bribe money from the agent.
