New Delhi, Jan 7 (UNI) More than 30 incoming and outbound flights were delayed for the fifth consecutive day today due to a dip in visibility at both the international and domestic airports here.
A Delhi International Airport (P) Limited spokesperson said the Low Visibility Procedures (LVP) was enforced at the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGAI) due to fog.
Only single runway, the primary one (28/10), was in use.
The spokesperson said safeguard procedure was initiated at 0340 hrs when the Runway Visual Range (RVR) reached 1300 m.
The LVP was implemented at 0615 hrs when the RVR dipped to 650 m and later terminated at 1130 hrs when the RVR rose to 1400 m after a duration of five hours and 15 minutes.
He said the safeguard procedure was terminated at 1151 hrs when the RVR further increased to 1500 m.
The spokesperson said 103 flights -- 80 domestic and 23 international -- operated during the LVP.
He said only two flights -- one domestic and one international -- were diverted today.
However, the spokesperson said no flights were either rescheduled or cancelled today.
He said the Indian Meteorological Department's fog forecast suggests clear but cloudy sky while general visibility would improve further.
