Mathur takes charge of BJP's Rajasthan unit, calls for unity
Jaipur, Jan 7 (UNI) Newly appointed Rajasthan BJP President Om Mathur today assumed charge with a call of unity among all groups and factions in the ruling party for gearing up the organisation for recording second successive win in the Assembly election in the state under Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje's leadership.
Addressing party workers outside the BJP state headquarters after taking over the charge, Mr Mathur named all former party state presidents including Mr Harishankar Bhabhra, KK Goyal and Lalit Kishore Chaurdvedi and others and sought their blessing and support for presenting a united face of the party before the voters to seek a second successive term for Ms Raje.
Party General Secretary Gopinath Munde, Chief Minister Raje, party Vice President Kailash Meghwal, Treasurer Ramdas Agrawal, former President Mahesh Sharma and several senior party leaders, including dissidents, were present on the occasion.
Mr Mathur said the party had decided to fight the election in November under Ms Raje's leadership and all party workers should sink their differences and resolve all disputes to realise the goals set by the leadership.
He said all workers and factions should ensure close rapport with the electorate and with activation of all booth committees.
Mr Mathur said he himself and the Chief Minister would tour jointly each and every district of the state to reach to the people.
Chief Minister Ms Raje and party General Secretary Mr Munde has also called the party workers to get ready to repeat Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh type feat in Rajasthan.
