Majithia seeks NRI journalists' help to boost FDI in Punjab
Chandigarh, Jan 7 (UNI) Punjab Information and Public Relations Minister Bikram Singh Majithia today sought co-operation from NRI journalists especially those covering overseas newspapers, magazines and internet news portals to disseminate the ''growth story'' of Punjab in their publications to boost the inflow of foreign investment in the state.
In an informal interaction with NRI mediapersons who had come here to cover Punjabi NRI Sammelan, Mr Majithia said, ''It is imperative for media to sell the growth story of Punjab so that investors in other countries get attracted to become partner in Punjab's progress.'' The Minister asked Principal Secretary Public Relations and Director Public Relations to have regular interaction with NRI mediapersons and share development stories of the state with them on a regular basis.
Mr Majithia said an officer of Public Relations Department would be designated to have a regular interaction with NRI journalists.
Responding to the demands of NRI journalists, he issued directions to issue identity cards to NRI mediapersons.
