KVI yet to receive three years subsidy from state govt.
Bangalore, Jan 7(UNI) The Karnataka State Khadi and Village Industries Board (KVIB) is yet to get subsidy released from the State government for the last three years since 2005.
"The subsidy upto 2004 has been cleared but for the years 2005, 06 and 07 amounting to Rs Seven crore is yet to be cleared by the State Government", Board Chief Operating Officer R Rameshappa said today.
Talking to newsmen here, he said that KVI would showcase their products in the 'Khadi Utsav 2008' being organised jointly by KVIB and Khadi and Village Industries Corporation (KVIC) here from January 10 to February 11. 17 states would take part in the utsav, he said.
He said that a record number of 413 stalls would be put up in the Utsav. Besides for the first time Stree Shakthi self help groups, AWAKE Lady Entrepreneurs, Coir board and other Government Organisations would participating by selling their Village Industries products.
Replying to a question, Mr Rameshappa said that last year the turnover during the Utsav was to the tune of Seven Crores and this year it may cross Rs 10 Crores.
