Kerala CM 'optimistic' about triumph of socialism
Kochi, Jan 7 (UNI) Close on the heels of veteran communist leader Jyoti Basu's reported support for capitalism, Kerala Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan today said ''social struggle of the working class will ultimately uproot capitalism''.
Addressing party workers after inaugurating the three-day Ernakulam District Convention of CPI(M) at Aluva near here, the Marxist leader said ''the inherent disadvantages outweigh the advantages of the capitalism and because of this, socialism will prevail.'' He said the 'exploitative aspects' of the capitalism would be resisted by the working class, resulting in a 'death warrant' for capitalism.
The social changes in the erstwhile Soviet Union, Cuba, Vietnam and China were a testimony to the triumph of socialism in the world order.
Mr Achuthanandan said the CPI-M and other Left parties were strongly oppposing the move of the Congress party to establish capitalism in the country.
