Illegal immigration racket accused gets bail

Mumbai, Jan 7 (UNI) A local court today granted bail of Rs 30,000 to Siraj Lakdawala who stands implicated in a human trafficking case.

While granting the bail, additional sessions judge K D Rathod directed the accused to submit his passport with the investigating agency.

Judge Rathod has, however, reserved his orders till tomorrow on the bail application moved by co-accused Arif Kadawala. Arif was allegedly entrusted the job of forging documents.

Earlier, the court had adjourned till January 11, the hearing on the bail applications of other co-accused Rinku alias Rohan Kapoor, Nitin More, Mahadeo Lande, Maruti Shinde and Mohan Vichare.

The crime branch of Mumbai police has registered three cases of human tafficking and arrested 32 people so far including Jet Airways air hostess Aliyas Rizvi, who is currently on bail.

The case was unearthed in November last year.

All those arrested have been charged with making forging documents to facilitate acquisition of visas from the United States.
