Coimbatore, Jan 7 (UNI) Congress Working Committee (CWC) member and party observer in charge of Tamil Nadu Arun Kumar today exhorted the party local body representatives to work in unison to bring the party back to power in the state.
Addressing a function, organised to felicitate the local body representatives of Coimbatore and Nilgiris districts here, he said the party's regional conferences held in Kancheepuram and Madurai were successful as all the workers attended it.
He urged the local body representatives to solve the problems faced by the people and thereby strengthen the party at the grassroot level.
TNCC President M Krishnasamy said, ''Without active support of the Congress, no party would be able to win majority in the state elections.'' ''If we stand united, we could bring Kamaraj rule in the state by 2011. Groupism in the party had hampered its chances in the state for the last 41 years.'' UNI KS SBC DB1824
