Armaan signs up with David Price Racing team

Chennai, Jan 7 (UNI) Eighteen-year-old Armaan Ebrahim, the youngest Indian driver to finish in the top three of Formula Renault V6 Asia Series, has been signed up by the UK-based David Price Racing team to compete in the 2008 GP2 Asia series.

Sponsored by JK Tyres, Armaan finished with five first places, two second places and two third places with most number of wins in Formula Renault V6 Asia Championship.

He also drove for A1 Team India in the 2006-07 season.

On his latest move, Armaan said David Price was one of the most popular and highly respected professional in the pit lane.

He is revered among several different motorsport formulae for his long and successful career, a release said here today.

''Over the last three decades he has built an enviable reputation as a leading team owner, with an unrivalled level of success, demonstrated by his winning performances in every category'', he added.

''For them to have taken up the option to run me is a huge confidence boost. The guys in the team are real racers at heart.

They have been very welcoming and I'm really delighted and proud to be sitting here today as a DPR driver. Like my wins in Malaysia, China, Indonesia, Japan and Zuhai last year, I look forward to add Dubai and Bahrain in my portfolio of winning nations'', Armaan said.
