New Delhi, Jan 6: Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) will train more than 1600 personnel of the Mumbai-based Atomic Energy Education Society (AEES) to enhance information knowledge and Information Communication Technology (ICT) capabilities in them.
IGNOU Pro Vice Chancellor Prof Latha Pillai announced this after signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the varsity and the AEES.
An IGNOU spokesperson said the MoU was signed by University Registrar K Laxman and AEES Secretary Bharti Chavan.
IGNOU will design the programme, conduct, evaluate and ensure total proficiency in AEES employees about ICT through training camps, workshops and other modes, he added.
The spokesperson said IGNOU would also facilitate certification of such programmes.
IGNOU Vice chancellor Prof V N Rajasekharan and AEES Chairman Dr C V Ananda Bose, the Directors of Schools and Heads of Divisions were also present on the occasion.
