Freedom fighter and Former MLA Rajkumari Devi passes away
Patna, Jan 6 (UNI) Veteran freedom fighter and former MLA Rajkumari Devi died here today after a prolonged illness.
She was 90 and survived by four daughters and two sons. The nonagenarian leader represented Taraia assembly constituency in Saran district on Congress ticket from 1958 to 1967.
Ms Rajkumari was admitted to the Patna Medical College Hospital a few days back, where she breathed her last.
During her long political career, Ms Rajkumari actively participated in the freedom struggle and raised the issues relating to interests of the underprivileged and downtrodden on various fora.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee (BPCC) chief spokesman Prem Chandra Mishra and former minister Vijay Kumar Singh were among others who condoled the demise of the veteran freedom fighter.
