8 killed in separate road accidents in Jammu
Jammu, Jan 6 (UNI) At least eight people were killed in separate road accidents in this region since last night, police today said.
Five passengers were killed when a minibus plunged into a gorge at Banjwar in Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir, the sources said.
Bodies of all the five people, including the driver and the conductor of the vehicle, were recovered from the accident site this morning.
The minibus was reportedly on its way to Dul from Kishtwar late last night when the accident occurred.
The deceased were identified as Ghulam Nabi Baghwan, Imtiyaz Ahmed Sheikh, Firdous Ahmed Baghran, Faqar Din and Mohammad Rafi, sources said.
In another accident three people died on the spot and four others were injured when a tipper rolled down in a gorge at Kotli Salal in district Reasi late last night.
The tipper was on its way from Reasi to Kori when the mishap occurred.
The deceased were identified as Daleep Singh, Mohinder Lal, Suprin Kharatta.
Four persons injured in this accident identified as Suraj Ram, Surat Singh, Vijay Kumar and Subash Singh were admitted to the Government Medical College, Jammu.
