Jaipur, Jan 6 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh trounced host Rajasthan by 129 runs to win the Cooach Behar Trophy (plate group) on the fourth and final day of their four-day match at the Sawai Man Singh Stadium here today.
Haryana routed Jammu&Kashmir by an innings and 338 runs to finish third at the KL Saini Stadium.
Uttar Pradesh gave a target of 336 runs to win the match but the hosts could manage only 206 runs. Ranji opener Manish Sharma (38) and Arjit Gupta (29) added 45 runs for the opening wicket to give a good start but thereafter only Sumit Khatri could resist once against Uttar Pradesh bowlers hitting a brilliant half-century with 58 off 105 with six fours and one six. Apart from Chetan Bisht 28 and Ankit Lamba contributed 18, five batsmen could not touch double figure.
Sunil Tripathi and Ankit Tiwari were the most successful bowlers grabbing three wickets each for 17 and 84 runs respectively.
Mohammed Khalid claimed two for 30. Mohammed Ahraz and Abhishek Tiwari shared one wicket each.
Haryana made 607 runs in their first innings. In reply, Jammu&Kashmir were bundled out for 152 in the first innings forced to follow on and then they were bundled out for 117 runs in the second innings.
