UP focussing on alternate energy in 11th five year plan
Lucknow, Jan 5 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh government is mulling a policy on the alternative sources of energy in the current 11th five year plan.
In its effort to overcome the power crises in the state, the government is considering framing a policy in the 11th five year plan, state principle secretary Prashant Kumar Mishra said today.
Non-conventional Energy Development Agency (NEDA) has been asked to prepare a formal proposal in this regard.
The policy would be focussed at achieving the target of 2,500 megawatt energy, which the state is facing shortfall of.
Mr Mishra noted it was high time to focus at renewable energy sources as the conventional energy sources would not last long.
He further said in order to carry forward the project one should not only rely on the governments funds, but private players should also be made part of it.
