Ranchi, Jan 05 (UNI) Different political parties swung into action after the announcement of dates of byelection to Simaria Assembly seat.
The byelection was neccesiated due to untimely death of BJP MLA Upendranath das.
The RJD, one of the major UPA allies, today conducted a meeting of its office bearers to discuss about the bypoll and make an unanimity among them over name of the candidate.
The party sources said name of former state president Yogendra Baitha as a candidate was also discussed during the meeting. Party sources said final approval of name would be done by party supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav.
However, another UPA ally Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) had also decided to field separate candidate in the byelection. A meeting of party leaders was also organised at the residence of party chief supremo Sibu Soren.
Meanwhile, the BJP was yet to make any decision in this regard.
Party sources said final decision in this regard would be done by the central leadership.
