Cattle smuggler shot dead in Indo-Bangladesh border
Guwahati, Jan 5 (UNI) A suspected Indian cattle smuggler was shot dead near the Indo-Bangladesh border in Assam's Dhubri district by BSF Jawans today.
BSF sources informed that the patrolling jawans spotted the smugglers moving towards Bangladesh with a herd of cows near Gudligaon in Mancachar in Dhubri district at about 0200 hrs.
When the BSF personnel challenged the people to stop, they started running, forcing the former to open fire.
One Bokul Ali was shot dead while the rest managed to flee taking advantage of the darkness.
The smugglers were suspected to be Indian nationals.
Cattle smuggling was a serious concern for the security forces on the Indo-Bangladesh border.
