BSES employee shot dead in Delhi
New Delhi, Jan 5 (UNI) A 50-year-old employee of BSES Delhi was shot dead by some unknown people in East District last night, police said today.
They said Jagdish Verma, a shift in-charge with BSES Delhi and a resident of Rajbir Colony, was returining home last night when police received an accident call.
However, on post-mortem it was found that the person was killed by a bullet and not due to any accident.
A case of murder has been registered at the New Ashok Nagar police station.
Meanwhile, police said a drug addict was killed in a hit and run case on Mathura Road near a cinema yesterday.
They said the Badarpur police station received an accident call at 0625 hrs yesterday.
Police said the body was believed to be of a drug addict, aged between 25-26 years, as a pipe and some pouch were seized from his possession.
He was apparently knocked down by some vehicle on the Mathura-Faridabad road.
Police have registered a case in this regard.
