BMC creates new department to accommodate museum staff
Mumbai, Jan 5 (UNI) The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has created a new department 'Central Archive' to accommodate 16 staff members of newly renovated Bhau Daji Lad Museum, now under the management of a Trust.
According to a circular, issued by Deputy Municipal Commissioner (Admn) A R Vale, as per the Maharashtra Government's Archive notification 2005, the Corporation has decided to create the 'Central Archive' department for maintaining civic body's records.
Former Curator Jotish Desai of Bhau Daji Lad Museum has been appointed as Chief Archive Officer.
The Trust has appointed 32 people to look after the museum.
However, the expenditure would be borne by the Corporation.
The Trust has also increased the entry fee for local visitors to Rs 10 from Rs two, while foreigners will have to pay Rs 100.
