Hyderabad, Jan 5 (UNI) Senior BJP leader and former Union Minister Ch Vidyasagar Rao today asked Telugu film actor Chiranjeevi to express his stand on the separate statehood for Telangana, following his decision to launch a political party in the State.
Talking to newspersons here, Mr Rao said Chiranjeevi should make his stand clear on the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh before entering into politics.
Stating that every individual had the right to launch a new political party to serve the people, he said, they should, however, extend their support for formation of Telangana.
Mr Rao said Bahujan Samaj Party's 'formula' would not succeed in the State as the people here had already experienced the caste-based political struggle decades ago.
Alleging that the State Government had failed to fulfill the promises made during the elections that all pending project works would be completed before 2009, Mr Rao alleged that Jalayagnam, a massive irrigation project construction scheme, was not rendering justice to the three regions of the State.
Urging the officials to launch a non-cooperation movement against the Government for stopping the allocation of lands to the real estate promoters under political pressure, the BJP leader alleged that the Government had illegally given thousands of acres of assigned lands to the private companies.
The officials, treated as Government servants, would be held accountable, if they failed to stop the growing encroachment of lands in the State, he added.
