APCC demands explanation from MP on derogatory statements
Hyderabad, Jan 5 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee acting President G S Rao today demanded an explanation from the Narsapur MP Harirama Jogaiah for his derogatory statements on Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy's governance and the party's position in the State.
Talking to newspersons here, he said the party would send a letter to the MP and seek an explanation on his statements. ''Mr Jogaiah has no moral right to criticise the party as an MP and he had no credibility, as he has changed several political parties, since he began his political career,'' he added.
Alleging that MP's statements reflected his 'foolishness', he said the APCC could not understand why a senior Congress leader like Mr Jogaiah made such uncalled for statements.
Calling on the party workers and leaders to maintain silence and not to resort to any violence and stage protests against Mr Jogaiah, the APCC leader alleged that the MP had no patience, as he wanted to become a force to reckon with in the new political parties, likely to emerge in the State.
Mr Jogaiah had yesterday claimed that film actor Chiranjeevi would become the next Chief Minister. Dr Reddy's development mantra would pale into insignificance before Mr Chiranjeevi's charisma, he added.
