Amritsar shivers at 1.2 degrees celsius
Jalandhar, Jan 5 (UNI) People shivered under severe cold wave as sun played hide and seek during the partly cloudy sky today.
According to Defence spokesperson Naresh Vig, the minimum temperature in the holy city of Amritsar, dipped to 1.2 degrees celsius. Adampur airbase, near here was cold at 4.8 degrees celsius, whereas at Halwara airbase near Ludhiana, it was low at 6.2 degrees.
The border town of Pathankot, the minimum hovered at around 7 degrees, while Bathinda, it increased to 8 degrees from yesterday's 3.8 degrees celsius.
In the Union Territory of Chandigarh, the minimum temperature recorded was 5.5 degrees celsius, while in adjoining Haryana, the temperature recorded at Ambala was 4 degrees celsius.
The minimum temperature in Srinagar was minus 2 degrees celsius, while in Avantipura it was minus 1 degree.
For the next 24 hours, the weather office has predicted fog, mist and haze in the morning and partly cloudy to overcast sky during.
