Amanjivanjot, Sarabjit best Punjab gymnasts

Chandigarh, Jan 5 (UNI) Punjab Police and Gurdaspur claimed the men's and women's team titles with 358.20 points and 157.40 points, respectively in the 47th Punjab State Gymnastic Championships at the SKR College of Physical Education at Bhajo Majra, near here, today.

In the men's championship, Jalandhar were runners-up with 298.85 points while Kapurthala got the third position with 215.25 points.

Punjab Police's Amanjivanjot was declared the best man gymnast with 72.15 points. Jaideep Sharma and Akash Deep Singh, both of Punjab Police, were jointly declared second with 71.70 points.

Nawanshahr and Patiala obtained second and third with 123.30 and 101.50 points, respectively in the women's team championship.

Sarabjit of Gurdaspur emerged the best woman gymnast with 34.50 points, Rohita (Gursapur) and Meenakshi (Patiala) were second and third best gymnasts with 33.10 and 32.10 points, respectively.
