Western disturbances likely to bring cold days
Shimla, Jan 4 (UNI) A dip in the mercury is expected to take place by the end of this week, and Western Disturbance (WD) is likely to approach the northern parts of the country tomorrow.
''Change in the pattern of the WD is likely to be reversed leading to incursion of warm air mass into the state, and as a result of this, night temperature is expected to increase further turning the days colder,'' Meteorological Department said.
Though the temperature, right from the beginning of January, has not shown any trend of sharp dip in freezing point during the day, it almost has touched the lowest during the nights.
In the past three days, weather fluctuation rendered cold nights, Bhuntar witnessed minimum -0.5, Una 0.5, Kalpa -1.5, and Sundernagar 3.4 degrees Celsius.
Meteorological department predicted light to moderate rainfall on January 5 and snowfall at many places on January 7 and 8.
