Mumbai, Jan 4 (UNI) The renovated Bhaudaji Lad Museum was today inaugurated by Shiv Sena executive president Uddhav Thackeray and the BJP national general secretary Gopinath Munde here, after its trustees waited for more than a year for the Prime Minister and the President to inaugurate the same.
The renovation work of more than a century-old museum was on for over five years and it was completed more than a year back.
The inauguration function was attended by local MLA Arun Gawli, Shiv Sena MLA Sada Sarvankar, Mumbai Mayor Shubha Raul and Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) Commissioner J Phatak among others.
The museum will be maintained by corporates, with the BMC Commissioner and Mumbai Mayor being the chairpersons of the museum.
Neeraj Bajaj, chairman of Bajaj Electricals, has donated Rs 2 crore for maintaining the museum and has promised additional Rs 5 crore for further maintenance.
