The two boys, one about 15-years-old and the other about 13-years-old started fighting after an exam at their government-run school in Chorwari village, police said. The older boy then fired from a revolver and killed the younger boy, police said, adding that the suspected killer has been arrested. According to eyewitnesses, the injured student was rushed to the hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries on the way.
The exact cause of the quarrel was not known yet, said Satna Superintendent of Police Kamal Singh Rathore. "The accused has been nabbed and a local-made revolver has been recovered. Further investigation is on," said Nagender Mishra, Additional District Magistrate, Satna District.
The District administration has announced a sum of Rs. 10,000 for the family of the deceased child. On December 11, an eighth standard student of the Eros International School in Gurgaon was killed when his two classmates allegedly pumped five bullets into him at point blank range in perhaps the first such shootout in a school in the country.
Enmity at school is believed to have triggered this incident.
