Chandigarh, Jan 4 (UNI) For the development of various road stretches in Rohtak Parliamentary constituency, a sum of Rs 340.70 crore has been spent during the tenure of the present government to strengthen over 1465 km length of roads.
As many as 162 projects are in progress involving an amount of about Rs 781 crore and 32 projects costing Rs 486 crore are in the pipeline.
It was disclosed in a review meeting of Public Works Department (Buildings and Roads) presided over by the Member of Parliament, Rohtak constituency, Mr Deepender Singh Hooda here today.
The status of works of Rohtak and Jhajjar and parts of Rewari district falling in Rohtak constituency was reviewed in the meeting.
As many as 181 projects, which were initiated by the present government immediately after it came into power in March 2005, stand completed.
Mr Hooda directed the officials concerned to take the construction of Mungeshpur Drain in Bahadurgarh, of rest house at Nahad and of Badli bye-pass on priority basis and installation of street lights on the village portion of four laning of road on Bohar-Bhalot.
He also emphasized the need of constructing alternate routes to Delhi for easing out the congestion on the existing routes and to have high connectivity of State with the National Capital.
The Commissioner and Secretary, PWD (B&R), K.K.Jalan said besides the strengthening of road network, the department had also constructed 12 buildings in the constituency and major works under progress included improvement and strengthening of Madina-Girawar-Kharanthi-Lakhanmajra road, various roads in municipal limits of Rohtak and construction of road from Sanghi to Polytechnic Sanghi.
He said that the other major works, which were in progress, included four laning of National bye-pass, Rohtak, construction of road from National Highway-10 to State Highway-16, construction of roads from Polytechnic Sanghi to all surrounding villages, CC pavement on Badli bye-pass road and construction of road in Jhajjar, Beri and Badli constrituency and 2 lanes ROBs at Bahadurgarh on Delhi-Bhatinda railway line.
Mr Jalan said that the major works which are in the pipe line included four laning of Jhajjar Chhuchhakwas road in city portion, Jhajjar, new bye-pass for Badli, Jhajjar Badli road, Jhajjar to Farukh Nagar Gurgaon, improvement of Jhajjar Chhuchhakwas Dadri road, Dighal Beri Jahazgarh road, Jhajjar Beri Kalanaur road, Bahadurgarh-Chhara-Dujana-Beri-Kalanaur road, construction of new road to link Sugar Mill at Rohtak, Sonipat Kharkhoda Sampla Road, Improvement of National Highway No.10 passing through Rohtak town and 2 lanes ROB Kacha Beri road and Rohtak Sonipat road.
