Rebel Gujjar leaders call for boycot of Bainsla's mahapanchayat
Ajmer, Jan 4 (UNI) A struggle for leadership within the Gujjars over reservation agitation has reached a crescendo with a faction of rebels announcing their boycott of the mahapanchayat called by their leader Col Kirori Singh Bainsla in Bayana on January 13.
Rebel leaders, including expelled BJP MLA Prahland Gunjal, Attar Singh Badana MLA and Rejendra Bidhuri termed Col Bainsla a 'traitor' at a press conference, and called for the boycott of the mahapanchayat at Bayana.
These leaders claimed Col Bainsla was incapable of leading the reservation agitation and should quit as the leader of the movement.
They alleged that Col Bainsla called the mahapanchayat at the instance of the state government. They asked the people of the community to boycott the mahapanchayat as it was that of 'Jaichand' (traitor).
Col Bainsla had yesterday announced that the leadership of the Gujjar reservation agitation and future course of action, including the rebel Gujjar leaders sponsored 'mahapadav' (seige) at Jaipur on January 21, would be decided at the mahapanchayt at Bayana.
The rebel leaders pointed out that Col Biansla himself had admitted after the Chopra commiteee report was made public that he was unable to lead the agitation and outmaneuvered by the government, they pointed out.
