New Delhi, Jan 4 (UNI) Terming it 'a grave mistake' on the part of the UPA government, former Defence Minister George Fernandes today disapproved of its decision to dissolve the Nagaland Assembly and impose President's Rule in the state.
In a statement here, the Parliamentarian and NDA Convenor said the Congress design to destabilise the region and impose President's rule was also a prelude to scrap Anti-Defection Act.
Recalling the courage with which the Nagas had fought the Kargil war, Mr Fernandes said the insurgency in the state was a 'minor problem' but the government had been unable to tackle it.
The government had rather created one more problem, he remarked.
