Satna, MP, Jan 4 (UNI) The father of a tenth class student, who shot dead a junior student in a school in this district of Madhya Pradesh yesterday, had murdered a student at the same school 21 years ago and at present was absconding in an attempted murder case, police said here today.
Rahul Singh's father Munna Singh (40) had murdered a student at the government higher secondary school at Chervari village near Singhpur in this district in 1979 and efforts were on to retrieve the file concerned from police records, Superintendent of Police Kamal Singh Rathore said.
Sixteen-year-old Rahul, who had purchased a pistol and two bullets from an army jawan for Rs 1500, shot dead eighth class student Dharmu Kol (15) on the school premises after a heated argument over exchanging new year greetings. Incidentally, the army jawan died five months ago.
Rahul had an altercation with Dharmu nearly a year ago over playing cricket and they had a running feud on this issue which flared up yesterday.
''Rahul is scheduled to be produced before the court today,'' the police added.
In a similar incident, a 16-year-old student, Prabal Pande, shot dead a nine-year-old student in Satna town two years ago.
Prabal used to extort money from the junior, the police said.
