Bhopal, Jan 4 (UNI) The main opposition Congress today alleged that the BJP was pumping government resources for campaigning for Lok Sabha by-election in Betul.
State Congress' media committee president Manohar Bairagi told reporters here today that the Chief Minister had announced 135 development works worth Rs 1.47 crore to impress the electorate.
He alleged that the government was exhibiting ad hocism by making random announcements for development of Betul hitherto deprived of development in view of defeats at recent by-elections.
Mr Bairagi said the BJP was in power since the past four years but no development took place in Betul, which was witnessing severe power crisis especially in rural areas affecting crops.
Charging the BJP Government of falling back on promises, he said, the Congress had started statewide demonstration and agitation against power problem and other public problems.
He said the agitation would expose the government and public problems.
The bypoll in Betul has been necessitated due to demise of BJP MP Vijay Khandelwal.
