Varanasi, Jan 4 (UNI) Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Sriprakash Jaiswal today accused Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati of ''politicising terrorism.'' ''By blaming the Centre repeatedly for terror acts in the state, Ms Mayawati is only politicising terrorism, which is dangerous for UP and also for the entire nation,'' Mr Jaiswal said in a brief interaction with mediapersons at the Varanasi Airport.
''The rise in terrorist attacks is certainly a cause of concern for both the Central and state governments. But, indulging in a blame game is not going to help fight terrorism,'' he underlined.
About January 1 terror attack on the CRPF camp in Rampur, Mr Jaiswal said, ''Security apparatus is working religiously to crack down the case and the results will be known shortly.'' Mr Jaiswal, who is also the Lok Sabha member from Kanpur, however, refused to comment on the CRPF failure in preventing the strike, despite being alerted in advance about a possible terror strike.
He later attended a function to mark 67th birth anniversary of former Union Minister Kalpnath Rai in the neighbouring Mau district.
