'Homesick' Woman from West Bengal commits suicide
Sangrur, Jan 4 (UNI) A woman from West Bengal allegedly commited suicide last night by hanging herself at her residence here as she was feeling ''homesick'', police today said.
According to police, Tasleem Begum, 28, was married to Mohammed Tariq, 30, hailing from Uttar Pradesh, about 9 years ago. The couple had been residing here since then.
The police said that she often quarrelled with her husband, a ricksaw-puller, demanding that the family migrate to West Bengal but Tariq was against the move.
The couple had a major quarell over the issue last evening also before Tariq left for work.
Tasleem, after putting their three sons to sleep, apparently hanged herself from the roof with her 'dupatta' and was found by husband when he returned late last night, police said.
The police has registered a case under section 174 of CRPC after the post mortem confirmed death by hanging.
