Dacoit killed, two abducted released in MP
Rewa, MP, Jan 4 (UNI) A dacoit was killed and two abducted persons were released following an encounter between police and dacoit Radha Patel gang in this district adjoining Uttar Pradesh, police said today.
On a tip-off, Deputy Inspector General (Rewa range) G R Meena formed separate police teams and cordoned off dacoits hiding in a forest near Mangdaol village. Police also took the help of Special Task Force personnel and Uttar Pradesh police.
On finding themselves surrounded, the bandits opened fire and one dacoit was slain in the ensuing encounter, while the rest fled taking advantage of darkness.
The body of the deceased dacoit with a 315 bore rifle and cartridges were seized from the forest. The dacoit was yet to be identified.
Bihar-resident contractor Yogendra Yadav and his mason Abhayraj Patel, who were abducted from Sajwani village in Sidhi district last month, were freed from the clutches of the bandits. A ransom demand of Rs two crore had been made for their release.
