Chidambaram meets Japanese FinMin

New Delhi, Jan 4 (UNI) Finance Minister P Chidambaram today met his Japanese counterpart Fukushiro Nukaga here to enhance mutual bilateral collaboration in the infrastructure sector as well as the financial sector.

The collaboration in the infrastructural sector includes the Dedicated Freight Corridor Project and the Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor Project, a statement said.

Both the leaders expressed satisfaction that relations between the countries have steadily progressed in the last few years.

The visits of the Indian Prime Minister to Japan in 2006 and the visit of the Japanese Prime Minister to India in 2007 have further strengthened the India-Japan Global Partnership.

The two sides have expressed hope that this partnership would further deepen, the statement added.
