Bihar: Special technical training for prisoners
Samastipur,
Jan
4:
Samastipur
district
administration
has
launched
a
drive
to
impart
special
technical
training
to
prisoners
lodged
in
the
Samastipur
divisional
jail.
To make prisoners self reliant they would be imparted training to make candles and other products used in households as it would instil a sense of creativity in them besides gaining required skills to earn their livelihoods, said Jail Superintendent(in-charge) Rakesh Kumar here today.
''The inmates would also be trained in the skills related to small scale industries,'' he said adding that the drive had been launched with the sole motive of offering them economic independence and bringing them to the social mainstream.
Mr Kumar informed that around 950 prisoners were lodged in the divisional jail currently and all of them would be trained according to their interest.
''Such trainings would motivate them and they would be distancing themselves from the crime world,'' he added.
This apart several matches of cricket, volleyball and other games were being organised among the inmates to inspire them towards a normal life.
