Three-day theatre festival in Mumbai from Jan 12
Mumbai, Jan 3 (UNI) Noted actor Ashok Saraf will pay tribute to his late uncle and guru, Gopinath Savkar by organising a three-day theatre festival here from January 12.
Late Mr Savkar had founded the theatre groups ''Kalamandir'' and ''Natyavihar''. He also produced and directed several legendary plays like ''Saubhadra'', ''Manapman'', ''Sharda'', ''Sanshaykallol'', ''Usna Navra'', ''Shankuntala'' and ''Yayati Aani Devayani''.
Late Mr Savkar directed several plays for the Goa Hindu Association.
The three plays, which will be staged during the festival, are ''Avgha Rang Ekchi Zala'' by Prasad Savkar, an experimental play ''Ek April'', directed by Subhash Saraf, will be the highlight of the second day and Ashok Saraf and his actress wife, Nivedita Saraf will be performing the play ''Sarkh Chatit Dukhtay''.
Legendary theatre personality Prabhakar Panshikar, former Union Minister and former Chief Minister of Goa Ramakant Khalap will be the chief guest at the festival.
