State to procure power from Chhattisgarh
Shimla, Jan 3 (UNI) The Himachal Pradesh government will be procuring electricity from Chhattisgarh to meet the additional requirement, which soars during the winters.
Stating this here today, Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal said that totally dependent upon the hydro potentials Himachal has no thermal or alternate power generation facility to meet the demand of electricity during the winters.
Mr Dhumal said that because of the winter, water resources got frozen which led to reduced power generation.
Dhumal requested his Chhattisgarh counterpart to intervene and get the required power supplied through the authorised and designated power transmission agency so that the same could be added to the power grid to meet any power deficiency in any part of the state during the winter season.
