Six-year-old rape victim traced in AP

A
six-year-old
girl,
who
was
allegedly
raped
by
a
youth
at
Chirala
in
Prakasam
district
on
New
Year's
day
and
missing
since
then,
was
traced
here.
After reaching here by Seshadri Express and loitering on the platform, the girl was spotted yesterday by the Railway Protection Force personnel, who reported the matter to the police and the Child Line of the national child labour project.
Child Line official G Satyanarayana identified the girl based on her photograph published in a newspaper.
The girl told the authorities that she fell unconscious after the sexual assault by one Cheekati Prasanna Kumar (25), who believing her to be dead dumped her in a toilet of the Kakinada-bound Seshadri Express.
The girl was sent to the Government General Hospital here for medical examination and kept under the custody of Child Line authorities. Prakasam district Superintendent of Police Naveen Chand was deputing a special team to take her to Chirala.
