New Delhi, Jan 3 (UNI) Senior leaders of Tripura Congress today urged the Party High command for a change of leadership if the party wants to come back to power in the state.
The delegation leaders had a meeting with the party high command and apprised them of the alarming situation in the State as the people have lost faith in the CPI(M)-led Left Front Government in view of its anti-people activities.
They also urged the leadership to work out a strategy for the upcoming assembly election in the State so that the present Government be replaced.
The delegation further disclosed that the State Government has misappropriated funds from various Centrally sponsored projects and from other Government funds.
The State leaders have assured the party high command that they will put up a united fight to defeat the Left Front in the assembly elections. The Congress high command have assured all support in establishing a pro-people Government.
These senior Congress leaders from Tripura today had a meeting with the Election Commission and submitted a memorandum urging to ensure a free and fair election so that the true mandate of the people of the state is reflected, said the Congress party General Secretary Prithviraj Chavan.
