Over 42 lakh tonne paddy arrives in Haryana mandis
Chandigarh, Jan 3 (UNI) The arrival of paddy in Haryana mandis during the entire kharif season this year was 42.02 lakh metric tonnes as against 40.69 lakh tonnes during the previous season.
Stating this here today, Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Chander Mohan today said out of total arrival 26.16 lakh tonnes of paddy was leviable and 15.85 lakh MTs non-leviable paddy .
The government agencies had purchased 17.84 lakh tonnes of paddy while 8.32 lakh tonnes of leviable paddy was purchased by the millers.
He said that HAFED had procured 7.20 lakh MTs of paddy followed by Food and Supplies Department 5.64 lakh MTs, Agro Industries Corporation 2.23 lakh MTs, Confed 2.05 lakh MTs and Haryana Warehousing Corporation 60,194 MTs and Food Corporation of India 10,431 MTs.
He said Kurukshetra district was ahead in all the districts with the arrival of 7.20 lakh MTs of paddy followed by Karnal 6.69 lakh MTs, Kaithal 5.06 lakh MTs, Fatehabad 4.76 lakh MTs, Jind 3.80 lakh MTs, Ambala 3.16 lakh MTs, Panipat 2.26 lakh MTs, Yamunanagar 2.17 lakh MTs, Sirsa 1.99 MTs and Faridabad 1.62 lakh MTs.
