NCP demands CBI probe into Anganwadi project scam
Patna, Jan 3 (UNI) The Bihar unit of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) today demanded a CBI probe into the Anganwadi project, a UN-sponsored ICDS programme under the aegis of the state's Social Welfare department.
NCP state general secretary-cum spokesman Mritunjay Kumar here said the state government must recommend a CBI inquiry into the scam related to irregularities committed in the distribution of incentive offered to pregnant women under the programme and the recruitment of Anganwadi workers.
He alleged that irregularities still continued in the distribution of incentives given to pregnant women, compensation offered to farmers for the loss of crops, Antyodya Yojana and Annapurna Yojana.
He also alleged that the state government was misleading the people in the name of good governance in spite of the reality that they had failed to address their aspirations and redress the grievances of the commoners.
