Bhopal, Jan 3: The state government has proposed to carve out one new district and six tahsils in Madhya Pradesh.
The new Singrauli district will be carved out of Sidhi district. At present there are 48 districts in the state. Entire Deosar, Chitrangi and Singrauli tahsils of existing Sidhi district will be included in the proposed Singrauli district, official sources said today.
Objections and suggestions will be received within 60 days after its notification in the official gazette.
Six new tahsils will be carved out in Betul, Harda and Vidisha districts. Tahsil status will be given to sub-tahsils Aathner, Chicholi and Ghora-dongri in Betul district, Sirali and Rahatgaon sub-tahsils of Harda district and Shamsabad sub-tahsil of Vidisha district.
